Angel Investment Act

I hope you are keeping warm this season as the temperature drops. The work here in the Capitol continues to move forward with committee hearings in full swing.

This week I presented my Senate Bill 1004 to the Committee on Economic and Workforce Development, which I am proud to vice-chair. This bill creates the Missouri Angel Investment Act which would provide a tax credit to investors equal to 40% of their investment in new Missouri businesses or 50% if the invested business is in a rural county. New startup industries are responsible for the vast majority of new job creation in this state. I believe this bill will encourage new businesses to begin here, encourage investors to keep their money here and stimulate not only new industries but, ultimately, new jobs.
