Gubernatorial Appointments

I wanted to take a moment to share an update on some important work recently completed by the Missouri Senate. One of our constitutional responsibilities is to review and confirm the governor’s appointments to state boards and commissions. These positions matter because they shape policy, provide oversight and ensure state government benefits from real-world experience and strong leadership. This week, the Senate confirmed two individuals I was proud to sponsor.

Doug Krtek - Health Facilities Review Committee

Doug Krtek was confirmed by the Missouri Senate to serve on the Health Facilities Review Committee, which oversees the certificate of need process for healthcare facilities across Missouri.

Mr. Krtek is the Founder and President of Krtek Real Estate Services, LLC and brings more than four decades of experience in real estate, finance, and business leadership. He has also been deeply involved in public service, including serving as a commissioner on the Parkville Planning and Zoning Commission and holding leadership roles with the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Doug’s professional background and commitment to his community make him well-suited to serve on this committee, and I was proud to sponsor his confirmation.

Frank Kruse - Missouri Conservation Commission

Frank Kruse was also confirmed by the Senate to serve on the Missouri Conservation Commission, which provides oversight of conservation policy and stewardship of Missouri’s natural resources.

Mr. Kruse is a senior executive and business leader who currently serves as President of Martin Hill Advisors. He brings extensive experience in organizational leadership and strategic planning, along with a strong record of board service. He currently serves on the board of the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation, giving him direct experience with conservation efforts in our state.

I was honored to sponsor Mr. Kruse’s appointment and am confident he will serve Missouri well on the Conservation Commission.

The Senate takes its responsibility to review gubernatorial appointments seriously, and I appreciate the time and effort these individuals are willing to dedicate to public service. If you have questions about this process or other work of the Missouri Senate, my office is always available to help.

It is my great honor to represent the citizens of Platte and Buchanan counties in the Missouri Senate. Please contact my office at 573-751-2183, or visit senate.mo.gov/Luetkemeyer.
