Senator Sandy Crawford's Capitol Report for the Week of Feb. 23, 2026
Thursday, February 26, 2026

Feb. 26, 2026
This week, the Missouri Senate Local Government, Elections and Pensions Committee heard another one of my pieces of legislation.
Senate Bill 1094 addresses an issue I was made aware of in my district dealing with election publications of a bond issue. This fix is a combined effort of the state auditor’s office, our county clerks, some of our public schools and the Missouri Press Association.
This bill changes the statutes to allow a bond election publication to happen twice within the six weeks prior to the election, rather than the two weeks prior to. As an alternative, the election authority may send each registered voter a notification of the election in the mail and only publish it once in the newspaper.
I look forward to the committee voting the bill “do pass.” It could then move to the entire Missouri Senate for debate.
I am honored to serve as your senator in the Missouri Senate. If, at any time, you have questions, concerns or ideas regarding state government, please feel free to contact me at 573-751-8793 or Sandy.Crawford@senate.mo.gov.
