Senator Tony Luetkemeyer Continues Leadership of Judiciary Committee

JEFFERSON CITY — For the fifth consecutive year, State Sen. Tony Luetkemeyer, R-Parkville, will continue his leadership of the Senate committee with oversight of legislation relating to Missouri courts, civil procedure, criminal law and related issues. Originally chosen to head the committee during his first year in the Senate, Sen. Luetkemeyer was reappointed to chair the Senate Committee on the Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence for the 102nd General Assembly.

In addition, Sen. Luetkemeyer has been named vice chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, which is responsible for drafting the Senate version of the state’s operating budget.

“Among my highest priorities in the Missouri Senate are ensuring the preservation of public safety through legislation related to cracking down on violent crime and safeguarding taxpayer money in the state budget,” Sen. Luetkemeyer said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to play a significant role in both of these areas through committee leadership.”

Senator Luetkemeyer will also serve as a member of the Senate Rules and Gubernatorial Appointments committees in the 102nd General Assembly.
