Senator Denny Hoskins Continues Leadership of Senate Economic Development Committee
JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Denny Hoskins, R-Warrensburg, will continue to lead the Missouri Senate Economic Development and Tax Policy Committee, having been reappointed chairman for the 102nd General Assembly. In addition, Sen. Hoskins will serve as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, the Insurance and Banking Committee and the Committee on Education and Workforce Development.
The Economic Development Committee considers legislation relating to the promotion of Missouri’s economy, the creation and retention of jobs, community and business development and tourism. This year, the committee’s responsibilities have expanded to include revenue and public debt of the state and the assessment of real and personal property. Senator Hoskins has chaired the committee since 2020.
“Growing Missouri’s economy and bringing more and better jobs to our state have been among my top priorities in the Legislature and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to steer economic development initiatives through the legislative process,” Sen. Hoskins said. “I am committed to getting government out of the way of small businesses, manufacturers and all other drivers of our state’s economy, and will work to let taxpayers keep more of their hard-earned money.”
A certified public accountant, Sen. Hoskins also has been reappointed to the Senate Appropriations Committee, which has responsibility for producing the Senate’s version of Missouri’s operating budget, as well as the Insurance and Banking Committee. The Education and Workforce Development Committee, which Sen. Hoskins joins this term, has expanded to address the increased importance of job training and career development to Missouri’s economy.
