Senator Andrew Koenig Named Chairman of Senate Education and Workforce Development Committee

Jefferson City — State Sen. Andrew Koenig, R-Manchester, was named chairman of the Senate Education and Workforce Development Committee on Jan. 10. This committee will consider and report on bills referred to it relating to education in the state, including public schools, libraries, programs and institutions of higher learning, as well as the promotion of workforce development and the creation and retention of jobs.
“It is an honor to be named chairman of the Education and Workforce Development Committee,” Sen. Koenig said. “I have always worked hard to ensure students have the best education possible, while preserving the rights of parents to advocate for their children, including school choice options and curricula related transparency. I am looking forward to the important work of improving education in our state and finding commonsense solutions for the challenges Missouri students face.”
Senator Koenig was also selected to be a member of the Senate Emerging Issues, Fiscal Oversight and Local Government and Elections committees.
