Senator Mike Moon
Senator Mike Moon, a Republican from Ash Grove, was re-elected in 2024 to represent the 29th District in the Missouri Senate. Prior to that, he served the 157th District in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2013-2020. He was named the Most Constitutionally Voting Legislator by the Locke and Smith Foundation from 2017 to 2023.
Senator Moon was born in North Carolina and graduated from Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. After graduation, he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he met his beloved wife of forty-four years, Denise. Senator Moon received his bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Southwest Missouri State University in 1985. He and Denise have five children: Amanda, Bryan, Erin, David, and Jason, and are the proud grandparents of four granddaughters and three grandsons.
Senator Moon enjoyed a 28-year career in marketing at Mercy Hospital and currently works as a cattle rancher on his farms in Lawrence and Christian Counties. He is an active member of High Street Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and on mission committees.
